David Sheerin BHSI, BE Accredited Trainer

David rejoined the team at Wellington after 15 years in the industry, starting out as a Working Pupil there in 1995. He has a wide variety of experience ranging from Racing to International 3-day Event yards. This experience and travel has given him a solid background in an ever changing and growing equestrian world. His previous job saw him producing and competing young event horses with great success.

His plans at Wellington are to encourage and support a fantastic group of coaches, students and clients towards their goals. David is a British Eventing accredited coach and works closely alongside world class trainers to develop his own skills, this enables him to pass on current coaching philosophies to students and clients, as well as adding his own experience to the mix.

David has 5 horses to event for the 2011 season, ranging from youngsters up to Advanced. In 2010 he completed Blenheim International Horse Trials, and gained a place on the European 2* eventing squad. All going well he is set to represent Great Britain at the Championship in August.

Dressed To Impress

Grace is 10 year old bay mare by Master Imp that David has produced from a 3 year old, working closely with the owner Teresa Smee. In 2010 the partnership went Advanced and completed Chatsworth, Highclere and Blenheim International. The plan for 2011 is to perfect his performance at this level and aim at qualification for Badminton in 2012.

Jungle Cruise

Onyx is an 8 year old grey gelding by Cruising. David has produced this horse from a 4

year old. Oxyx has risen through the ranks with great success winning many events on the way up. With this stunning grey he qualified for the Britsh Novice Championship at Gatcombe in 2010. Onyx has been chosen as David’s ride for the British Squad at the Eurpoean 2* Event Championship in August.

Newmilne Dakota

Dakota is an 8 year old bay mare owned by Sami Elliott who David trains. David will be competing this mare to further her training at Intermediate level, with her owner riding her in dressage events.

Ballyeden Shakespeare

Huxley is a 6 year old bay gelding that lives at home with David. He is part owned by Sami Elliott. David has produced this horse from a 4 year old and competed last year at BE 100 level. This year the plan is to aim at his first International 1* event.

Cliquot

This is Davids own horse who lives at home. He is rising 5 years and was backed late in his 4th year. David plans to introduce him to eventing this season.
