2009 Dressage Tests
Unless otherwise notified we will be using the following Pony Club Dressage Tests this year (for dressage only and the same test for Combined Training).
UPPER INTERMEDIATE AND MAJOR OR LEAGUES: PONY CLUB HORSE TRIALS DRESSAGE TEST 2002
INTERMEDIATE & INT OR LEAGUES: NOVICE DRESSAGE TEST 2004
NOVICE, UPPER NOVICE & NOVICE OR LEAGUES: PONY CLUB DRESSAGE TEST C1
The same test will be ridden all year by each league, and copies of the tests can be collected from Wellington Riding, from the envelopes below the Pony Club Notice Board. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure that you pick up a copy of the correct test! Upper Intermediates and Major Owner Riders MUST learn their tests, but Novices, Upper Novices, Intermediates and Mini Owner Riders may have their tests called.

Please remember to call 07738 872 053 for times, between 7 & 9 pm the night before the competition. This applies for Dressage and Prix Caprilli Competitions – not Combined Training.
Pony Club Camp 2009
Another hugely successful Pony Club Camp week
I am very glad to announce that due to the continuing success of our Pony Club Camp Week, it will take place again next Easter. Dates will be confirmed early next year. Members may be residential or non-residential and will spend their week training for their D, D+, C or C+ Test Certificates, with 2 lectures and 2 riding lessons a day. D, D+ and C Tests will be taken at the end of the week, but please note that attendance of this week does not ensure an automatic pass! This week is open to all members of the Wellington Pony Club Centre regardless of age or ability. Branch members who ride in our Owner Rider Leagues must bring a signed permission slip from their DC giving permission for them to take their tests at Wellington.
* The D Test can be taken at any age and is designed to be the first achievement for the newly joined member.
* The D+ Test is a good stepping stone to C Test but is not mandatory before C Test.
* The C Test can be taken from 12 years onwards, the candidate must have passed the Pony Club Riding and Road Safety Test before taking the C Test.
* The C+ Test can be taken from 14 years old. The candidate must have passed the British Horse Society Riding and Road Safety Exam before they can take their C+ Test.
Please note that this special week always draws a lot of attention from members, and spaces are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment. The week will be kept specifically for Pony Club until the 1st March, after this spaces will be filled by non members, so please, book early. Please note that we will NOT be running a Pony Club Riding and Road Safety Test during this week. If you have your D+ Test and need to do your Pony Club Riding and Road Safety Test, please speak to Caroline and we’ll try to arrange dates/times that are mutually suitable.
Pony Club Achievement Badges
The achievement badges are designed to fill in the gap years between the D and the C Efficiency Tests and to give Pony Club members the opportunity to improve their general knowledge. On passing each test they are awarded a cloth achievement badge which they can sew onto their Pony Club sweatshirts. The idea is to cover the ‘C’ Test Stable Management syllabus without the children realizing they are doing it! Some of the badges cover basic countryside knowledge as well as horse related topics. There are 29 badges in total to collect, and the Pony Club will award a special gold badge to anyone who completes 21 of the badges on the list.
Cost: 1 Voucher. Price includes 1 training session + 1 Test + badge.
Training and test sessions are running at the moment, please collect a leaflet next time you’re at Wellington which will tell you the date of each training and test session.
