12 Week Intensive BHSPI

BHSPI 12 Weeks

This course is designed to enable the student to gain their BHSPI in only 12 weeks!

Students need to be competent riders with practical horse care experience at Pony Club B test standard. The BHS exams are taken towards the end of each month, with the PTT exam also taken at the end of the third month.

The course is a 5 ½ day week, 7.30 - 5.30 for long day students, or 8.45 - 4.00 for those with outside commitments*. The long student timetable is as follows: (*for those Students taking the short day option, there is an additional charge).

A Typical Days Training

7.30 am - Morning stables, check allocated stabled horse, muck out, brush off

8.30 am - Read day list and tack up for riding

9.00 am - Group lesson - ‘Flat’

10.00 am - Stable Management lecture - ‘Theory’

11.00 am - Group lesson - ‘Jump’

12.00 pm - Put horses away - lunch time stables

12.30 pm - Lunch

1.30 pm - Prepare horses for Teaching Practice

2.00 pm - Teaching Practice (practical or theory)

3.00 pm - Stable Management lecture - ‘practical’/NVQ assessment

4.00 pm - Groom, skip out stabled horse, tack clean, help with lessons

5.30 pm - Finish for the day
