Pocket Money

Pocket money to cover sweets, telephone calls, etc. is required. £20 per week should be sufficient to cover this. Pocket Money should be handed in on arrival for safe keeping and will be given small amounts on a daily basis.

Medical

Where appropriate, please provide in writing any information concerning medical conditions and medication currently being administered. Any pills or medicines must be handed to the Junior Course Director or House Mother on arrival together with details of administration.

Telephone

All children are encouraged to send a postcard home. We would be grateful if you would refrain from telephoning your child as experience has shown that children settle in better if undisturbed by personal calls especially in the first few days. It is also difficult to get children to the telephone during their activities which are held in different parts of the Estate. The children have access to a pay telephone which they may use to telephone you. We prefer children to leave their mobile phones at home, but if they must bring them with them, they must be handed in on arrival and will be kept securely in the office. Children may have access to their phones at lunch time. PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Our Course Director is available if you wish to ask about your child or check on their safe arrival. Normal office hours are 9.00 am - 5.30 p.m. The direct number for the JC administrator (Caroline) is 01189 225 379. To contact your child in cabins the telephone number is: 0118 9326577 and the times for calling are: between 12.30 and 1.30 (after lunch) and between 5.30pm and 9.30 (after dinner). Please be aware that the children are not usually in the cabins during the evening (especially during the summer), as they are participating in activities on the estate, or out on a trip. Out of office hours you can speak to a Junior Course Supervisor on 07826 708081 (emergency calls only please).

Birthdays

If your child has a birthday during their time with us, we will be happy to provide a cake for them to share with their friends at a cost of £12.00. Please advise us if you require a cake to be ordered.
