WELLINGTON GROUP SUCCESS AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2005

In January of 2005 we started our quest for success in the R.D.A’s Video Drill Ride to Music Competition.

After a lot of work, planning our ride, putting it to music and coming up with a name ‘Following You’, we then on the appointed day put all of our hard work together and videoed the ride to enter the competition.

It turned out to be a very busy morning for the helpers, arriving at Wellington Riding around 9am to prepare the horses, grooming until their coats shone, plaiting their manes and tails, putting bandages on their legs in readiness for the riders, who all turned up looking really smart. We then spent a busy morning going through the ride and putting it onto video.

After this we sent off our tape to be entered in the Regional Competition and much to our pleasure in July we heard that we had finished first and would be entered into the National Competition. We then heard in September that we had been successful and had won first place. We were all really delighted.

An awful lot of work went into preparing for this competition, from first planning the ride, then the music, the name, practicing and perfecting the ride, getting the horses and school ready and then videoing the ride. For all of this we would like to thank Wellington Riding and especially our Instructor Tracy, for their continued support.
