The First Duke of Wellington

Only an hour from London the Wellington Country Park is a perfect choice for the whole family. Its 350 acres of wooded parkland form part of the estate of the Duke of Wellington, and it is close to Stratfield Saye House, built for the first Duke in 1817.

The Park boasts a wealth of attractions including a Deer Park with herds of red and fallow deer, Nature Trails, Thames Valley Time Trail and plenty of activities for kids of all ages. Older children will enjoy the well equipped Adventure Playground and Crazy Golf and younger members of the family will love the Miniature Railway, drawn by a scarlet engine called Charlotte and the Children's Animal Farm where friendly animals welcome being handled and petted.

These is coarse fishing from the banks of the 35 acre lake which has rowing boats and pedaloes for hire and visitors are welcome to bring their own boats. This is a delightful fishing spot to bring the family with something for every age group.

Those looking for peace and quiet will find many secluded woodland walks and places for an undisturbed picnic.

The Park has a well-equipped caravan and campsite and rallies, company picnics and barbecues can be easily accommodated (20 - 5,000). School groups are welcome.

There is a cafeteria for light refreshments and a coffee shop serving freshly brewed coffee and delicious Wellington ice cream. The gift shop has a well chosen variety of souvenirs and presents.

The Park offers a full programme of themed family events throughout the season.
